Didn't Jim Hill get a mega deal to go to KABC and that's when Olbermann was brought over? I think KABC threw a ton of money at Hill after Paul Moyer jumped to KNBC.

    And, that's hilarious... Jim Hill?

I remember when he was brought into the ABC College Football Postgame Show when Lampley left in 1987 or 1988. Just no personality whatsoever.

I'll never understand how Jim Hill lasted in the biz as long as he did.

And still on the air on KCBS. Nattily attired as usual. Every time I go home, freakin' Roggin is still on the air.

I love the part of the excerpt that warned us all not to believe the mascot commercials. You mean Sparty doesn't come by for eight hours a day to run the copier and file papers? I... I just don't know what to believe anymore.

    Only if they're police reports...

Show us on the doll Mr. Berman: Where did Sparty touch you?

I never got why Roggin was hired in the first place ... and he's been there more than 30 years.
Hill was always only OK, but the athletes talked to him. He got access.
Over the past few years, he has dropped considerably. He's become a Lakers ass-kisser. The led the 11 o'clock news with the Lakers being swept by Dallas. It had a tone of "the president has just been shot," a tragedy of epic proportions.
And Hill is notorious for mispronouncing names. To me, that's the signal to retire. And here's one last gem from Hill: "The Ducks lost to the Atlanta Flames tonight, 4-1, in overtime."

Stuart Scott was a big reason why I stopped watching SportsCenter. When I was in college and it was Kilborn, Patrick and Olbermann, I never missed a nightly SportsCenter.

Scott was OK when his biggest catchphrase was "as cool as the other side of the pillow" but got worse as he got more famous.

Hill has always gotten athlete access. But, yeah, that's pretty bad.

Of course, the one who butchered names all the time was Silver Tip Stu.
