Nor do I, I'm not starting minor leaguers once Sept. 1 rolls around

Once I miss the playoffs, the season is over, IMO.

So, is Guy right? Should the draft order after the top two be determined by regular-season record? It would not affect any of the teams that made the playoffs. The draft order for those teams would be the same either way. It doesn't affect me at all. I'm drafting last no matter what. It would affect the six teams that missed the playoffs.

We could try something else for 2025, but I'm not sure how else to do it. I don't like to see teams tanking once they miss the playoffs. Instead of having the last-place team get the first pick in the draft, we could have the teams that miss the playoffs compete for it. The seventh-place team would be first followed by eighth, ninth, and so on. One of my money leagues does something similar. I wouldn't do something like that until 2025, but it's a thought.

I don’t make moves such as adding or dropping players if I’m in the consolation round as a courtesy for the teams that are trying to win the playoffs.

I say use the regular season standings for the non-playoff teams and the playoff finishes for the playoff teams.

So far, everyone has said we should do that or that they don't care. That's an easy fix. I will look at the standings based on record tonight.

I do the same with adds and drops.

This is a free league, if someone wants to tank for a draft pick, more power to them.

I'm for whatever gets me a better pick. Sixth? Yuck.

That's a fair point. Honestly, that's why I never looked past what Yahoo had for the previous year's standings. I take this seriously and try to be as fair as possible to everyone, but it's still a free league.

Mine's bad enough that, unless I change my mind, I'm giving up my first-round pick for a keeper. I never do that.

That’s the way we do it in my other three leagues. One of my football leagues changed it two years ago so that the consolation tourney winner gets first pick, which I hate. If I’m 12th, my season was already shitty enough, I don’t need to lose top pick for next season, too.

I'm in a league that has the top for teams win money and fifth place gets the top pick. The top four end up in the final four spots in the draft, but the teams that miss have to finish higher to get the higher pick. To be fair, that's a very different league. We keep eight, build the rest of the starting 25 in an auction, then draft reserves.

We are up to eight teams with a preliminary keeper list. Two of the four who haven't sent one are the non-SJ members. I can harass them offline next week.
