Watched Michell Obama give a speech yesterday on C-Span. Impressive as hell - she's better than he is. You could see everyone in the room fall for Obama like dominoes.

At one point she was talking about how skewed the priorities are in this country, so that, for example, someone who wants to enter a profession like teaching can't afford to because the job doesn't pay enough to re-pay the student loans. She then mentioned several other professions in a similat position, including journalism.

I think Obama will win New Hampshire, but I don't think that makes him a lock for the nomination, like some pundits claim. He was almost completely without substance in that debate, which I took as a sign of him being afraid to make a mistake. It'll be tougher for him as the frontrunner.

No one outside of Ron Paul and Kuccinich and the like have been substantive. All that does is spurs people to criticize and go negative and rip ideas immediately by claiming such nonsense is going to tear this country apart until states like Iowa and Florida which matter so much to the fabric of our nation are floating towards the middle east, literally, so that they can be claimed and inhabited by terrorists. And the terrorists are probably part-Mexican.

Obama's not a lock, but unless he implodes, explodes or compares himself to Jesus, he will be the Democrat's nominee and the even money bet to be the next president of the USA. And look for Senator Webb of Virginia to get some serious consideration for VP.

I don't think he needs an implosion. Just a mistake here or there. At some point people are going to look at him and think, 'Wait, is this guy REALLY ready to be president?' And he's not going to have a free pass. He's going to be scrutinized in a different light. There's a long way to go and Clinton has enough money to hang in there until Feb. 5.

I would love to see everyone's reaction if John Edwards actually surprisingly won the Democrat nomination. The chances are very slim, but it would be interesting if something shocking came out of the primaries, not the predictable. :)

A black man getting the nomination isn't a surprise?

Well, Obama is a predictable result for the Democratic nomination. It will be great if a black man gets the nod for the democrats. However, his wins are becoming too predictable....it would be nice to have something unpredictable happen in this primary race...

I would like to see more of a race or competition here... :)

Not even close. It'll be an "upset" like an 8-seed beating a 7 in the NCAA Tournament.

HRC might be twice as smart as Bill. But she's got less than half his personality and likeability. And that's important when you're campaigning.

Yeah, I know, but at least there are some people in this world who think differently than the norm ;) ;D

    She's a WONK.

    Wonky, wonky, wonky.

    Smart? Yeah.

    Likeable? Not much.

    Good public speaker? Spare me.

She's made most of the right moves. She knew she couldn't get elected dogcatcher in Illinois, so she established residence in NYS, where she'll be hard-pressed to lose her next two Senate bids.

Remember, she's no kid. She'll never see 60 again.
