I always thought "Take This Job and Shove It " would be a gem of an entry.

One of my favorites was when Hillary announced that she was running for the Senate. Here and Bill up on stage and New York State of Mind was supose to kick in. Instead up pops "Captain Jack"

If only our current president would simply "toe the line" of what is right I'd be thrilled. Hell, he's 2/3 of the way down the alley and over in the gutter.

Not sure if I buy it, but it was an interesting thought: I heard someone say that maybe the Iowa Caucuses were sort of a reverse Bradly Effect. Since they're public, the same pressure that causes people to lie to pollsters caused them to vote a way they might not have in a secret ballot.
Interesting thing to kick around in the ol' noggin anyway...

Looking ahead on the Democratic side:

South Carolina: Hillary and Obama will split the black vote. The Clintons are still very popular in the African American community. Hillary will claim a slight edge over Obama on the women's vote, with Edwards peeling a few off. But Edwards gets most of the white male vote (what there is in the Dem primary, anyhow), making it a three-way race. I'll say homeboy Edwards wins, followed closely by Hillary and Obama.

Nevada: Hillary and Edwards will skip Nevada and leave it for Obama.

Florida: The snowbirds and bluehairs all go for Hillary, pushing her to the top. Obama finishes second and Richardson deals Edwards a fatal blow by finishing third.

Super Tuesday: Hillary takes Arkansas, California, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Obama takes Utah, Arizona, Minnesota and Missouri. The two will split Alaska, Tennessee, Alabama, Colorado and Georgia. Hillary emerges with the delegate lead but Obama hangs tough. Edwards is toast.

    On the GOP side:

Michigan: Romney will roll. His father is still fondly remembered in that state. McCain will finish second, and Huckabee will come in somewhere in the low teens.

Nevada: A real battle between the westerner McCain and the Mormon Romney. Too close to call.

South Carolina: Huckabee catches the pack again with a huge win. McCain, who has made this state his firewall, places a disappointing second again. Romney doesn't break single digits.

Florida: Rudy's last stand. I have a hunch he will win a plurality, but it won't be strong enough to propel him back into the race as a viable contender. McCain edges Romney for second, and the Mitt watch begins.

Maine: McCain holds form in a state very similar to New Hampshire, followed by Romney.

Super Tuesday: Here's where Huckabee makes his hay. He takes Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia. McCain gets Alaska, Arizona, California, and Montana. Romney gets Illinois, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Utah to at least stay in contention, and Rudy has a last hurrah in New York and New Jersey.

I see it as still a three-man race coming out of Super Tuesday. Rudy will stay in the race, but I think the math will be against him.

F_B, Old Fred will finish first or second in SC for the Repubs. If it's not first, he will then bow out. Finally.

Also, I don't think Hillary will ignore Nevada; but she won't emphasize it either. She will show up.

Finally, Romney may win in Michigan, but he won't roll.

Here's a buck seventy. With that and the above opinions, you can buy a "tall" cup of coffee at your local Starbucks.

Oh, almost forgot; you are way over-rating the Huckabooger and the power of the Evangelical right. The general weakness of the Republican field is the only thing that makes him viable. McCain, Romney and Giuliani will all wind up ahead of him. (Wishful thinking? Hope not.)

This is the first place I've read that Obama won last night.
