Israel does have domestic flights, although not a ton of them. You can fly to Eilat.

Bin Laden does own honey factories in the Middle East.

What chaps me most about this psychopathic overreaction to system failure is that they let this dude sail on board with a one-way ticket. I can't count the number of times I got the full workover from TSA on baseball road trips (which have many one-way boarding passes). So Sea-Tac to John Wayne Orange Country is a more likely terror target than Amsterdam-Detroit?

This made me laugh really hard for some reason.

Funny on one level but also true. See link to story.

Still paid for the ticket in cash, which would have been a red flag.

Friend of mine flew out of Kennedy on an international flight. In and through security in about 15 min FWIW.

Saw that TPM post this am and I stand corrected. I was going on media reports. FWIW, I flew on January 2 out of Jacksonville, which has all the security bells and whistles due to Super Bowl XVIX in '05, and it was a breeze.

Dropped my wife off at JFK Saturday for a trip to South Africa. No line at security. She was through in five minutes. I'm assuming coming back into the States will be where the hassles begin.

Her plane was still delayed. Not terrorism, but they were replacing "defective parts" on the plane. Oh.

So that's what the kids are calling the "security checks" these days.
