Newspaper holiday parties thread

    I was the A1 designer under a guy who worked at a tabloid before getting back onto conventional journalism, during my Lake Havasau City days. Always had a catchy headline, whether it fit the story or not. Always leaning over my shoulder during the design process.

    One I recall best was when we had a story about new teachers. The reporter's lead was about a music teacher who had come from the Upper Midwest and was having trouble adjusting to those warm Havasau summers. Somehow the editor came up with "New teachers hot to trot," to which I responded "They're not streetwalkers!"

    That was SOP at one of my more incestuous stops. Practically everyone at the paper had banged everyone else at one point or another.
