Elsewhere, Rick Perry didn't submit enough signatures to be on the primary ballot in Virginia:

WaPo Letter to the Editor regarding Newt's inability to get on the ballot in his home state of Virginia:

It is not surprising that Newt Gingrich did not qualify for the Republican primary ballot in Virginia. A piece of anecdotal evidence suggests why. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, I received a robo-call urging “all Republicans in Alexandria” to go to an address on Duke Street to sign petitions to help get Mr. Gingrich onto the ballot.

My wife and I are Democrats and have actively supported Democratic candidates for 20 years. But, more important, the call said the Duke Street location would be open on Dec. 19 and 20. The call, which we received at about 7:30 in the evening, also urged us to attend a rally for Mr. Gingrich from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Oh, and, not surprising, documents show divorce #1 didn't happen the way Mr. Alternative History says.

Oh, and, per CNN, Congressman Gingrich was a deadbeat dad for awhile. It got so bad, a local church had to do a food drive for his wife and daughters.

  5. I saw an amusing Tweet about Gingrich - not going to drag it up but the gist was

No, no, Starman, don't you see? Welfare is wrong no matter what the color. Just have the churches take care of the dumped women and kids while Daddy is banging wife No. 2 instead of the government.

Sounds good to me. Faith-based initiatives.

I have faith I can take the initiataive to screw my Barbie-doll groupie GF while I fob off the support of my most recent wife and daughters on some suckers in some church.

Wow...I guess baseball fields aren't the only things about Iowa the mysteriously disappear.

If only they had to make the ballot back then when state legislators elected senators.

There's a part of Ron Paul that appeals to all of us. I'm pretty certain every single one of us can find something to like about him. It's the totality of him.

My guess is Clarkson heard something about him she liked and rolled with it. But really, who cares? I hate when people do stupid stuff over that.
