I'm not sure they're in the closet. They were pretty out in the open and were covered in the press.

I think most people would empathize with that. They'll have a lot more trouble with who is brother is than with his daughter.

I can't help noting the Weiner and Gingrich threads right next to each other. I must note these two pols have something in common that helps explain why they're in so much trouble right now. Other pols on their own sides can't stand them and are happy to slip in the shiv now that the opportunity presents itself. Pols, by and large, are inclined to like other people, especially their peers. A pol much disliked by other pols should always be mistrusted by voters, because it's a very good sign the guy or gal is an asshole and possibly a sociopath.

Both are know for taking their own advice over that of others too.

As much as we all like to bash politicians as puppets, the ones that don't get good advice usually fail. Sometimes spectacularly.

Jeb Bush thinks it's a viable strategy to just let the states go bankrupt. Former governor of a major state. Don't worry your sweet little head, go bankrupt. It will all come out in the wash.

Newt Gingrich is a very intelligent person who has always been very eloquent in articulating conservative political principles. His problem is that he's never known when to shut up, and his personal ethics make Bill Clinton look like Mahatma Gandhi.

Yeah, ummm, Gandhi wouldn't be the one to hold up as a paragon of virtue, necessarily...

At least Newt's a throwback to olden times, when they kept their own village idiots around and always in the public eye, the better for collective mockery and amusement.

This is who was giving Newt head in his government car on the street outside the Capitol during the Clinton impeachments? Even Bill would put his anthony in that head.

That's the kind of dumb shit that the Texas democrats said about Bush: "We need a governor. If he wants to run for president, go run for president."
Of course, they didn't say that when Ma Richards was mulling it.
