That extra 30 bucks a week could have paid for a day's worth of gas

Trust me. That one-year wage freeze doesn't apply to everyone.

Rare to see any management-type take a pay cut, but it's still a hollow gesture. The execs above him are sure to make their millions despite their failures. Sooooo glad I got out.

"Enhanced" gives the 50-plus crowd a bonus five years to count toward retirement benefits.

Poynter would be better off trimming some of the navel-gazers at poynter.org.

And LJB, great find and an interesting story. After reading that, I want to come back as Paul Tash's successor in my next life.

At least St. Pete can afford a nice, clean, sharp axe.

I'm not so sure mandated 1% increases across the board is a helluva lot better. Sadly.

It's not a lot better, but I'll take 1% over 0% any day of the week.

God forbid Poynter drop Al's Morning Meeting and the rest of their worthless salaries to help pay for actual working journalists.

    That's what I thought.

    A bad choice of words.

I've observed this outfit up close in the past and they take wonkery and tedium to a new level.

Think Hogwarts without the charm, personality or results.

    What he said.
