Without commenting on Fisher, one question about this story has stuck in my mind: Why The Fuck are ESPN and others acting like Eric Dickerson's opinion is so important here? Just to remind people:

--Dickerson only played four seasons for the Rams
--Dickerson played most of his career for other teams
--Dickerson left the Rams in 87 under acrimonious circumstances where he'd demanded a trade and had nothing but bad things to say about the franchise afterward.
--Dickerson never gave the slightest shit about the Rams during all those years when they were in St. Louis.

But now that that the Rams are back in La La Land, Dickerson's suddenly transformed into "Mr. Ram" and we're acting like his opinion on all things Ram really matters. Allow me to offer a differing opinion: fuck that frontrunner, he is not a coach, a GM, or anything else that counts, why should I give a shit what he thinks of Jeff Fisher?

The two joke franchises just a little less than a decade ago were the Raiders and Cowboys. Look at them now.

That Al Davis passed and Jerry Jones had his keys taken away by his sons is a big part of it.

If Dickerson was this interesting on Monday Night Football, his broadcasting legacy wouldn't be "... uh, Al?"

Dickerson was a first-class locker-room cancer during his playing days.

ESPN picked up Dickerson's jock because they were told to grease the rails on Fisher's firing. WWL is just part of the NFL's PR division.

That's disturbing, not least of all because my dad has an identical mustache.
