Because maybe he knows that $6.5 million is going out the window soon, thanks to cord-cutters?

    What's a debacle about it?

It's a bad football team, but bad football teams are the ones that change coaches. And this one has a reasonable amount of talent (especially on defense), an owner who doesn't meddle in personnel, and all the money Gruden could ever want for himself, assistants and players.

Why would they bother to do that before the final game of the regular season?

To get a jump on interviewing playoff teams' assistants?

I guess, though it seems more a matter of wanting him gone as soon as possible, especially after Saturday's embarrassment.

If the Rams are already looking at coaches, the clock has started and they don't want to fall behind. It makes sense.

If you take away his 16 losses, Ryan did a really good job in Buffalo.

Well, that's a pretty good reason, too.

Sounds like Ryan wanted to play Tyrod Taylor and the organization didn't. EJ Manuel is going to start. If Taylor gets hurt, Bills on the hook for a $16M bonus and $30M in guaranteed money. The Pegulas don't want to take that risk.
