Boy Purdy sucks

 

Ridiculous. Both 4th downs had people open

 

Cannot say enough about Purdy's play in the second half. Big-time performance.

 

Yeah, going for it was probably right. This defense is gassed and can't tackle in space. Campbell knew they were never going to stop them.

 

Your opponent is at home and has all the momentum. You have an opportunity to slow that momentum down and tie the game if your kicker is any good. Instead, you have to show how much of a gambler you are, and it doesn’t work.

And now you’re down by 10, with three minutes to go.

 

The way the game was going, you have to get the tie. Now the game is almost certainly over instead of the Lions having a chance to force overtime (or win with a 2-point conversion).

 

I was in it for the best story. Great comeback by the Niners. But a bit of a bummer.

 

This was an all hands on deck failure. The defense was gassed, the offense didn’t score, the special teams botched downing a punt.

 

Except now the offense has no chance to do anything but score a garbage touchdown.

 

So are Lions going to Lions or Shanahan gonna Shanahan?
