Another factor that might push him into 2nd round is that some many DL's tested so well.
That is an impressive group with a bunch of guys who have the speed to play LB.

Yeah, there will be a lot of defensive tackles taken... But there aren't many quarterbacks or running backs getting a first-round grade.

If Te'o goes in the first round, it will be to a team that can afford to take a risk on him.

Which is why they're not likely to be able to trade out of No. 1.

And given what's out there, using their No. 3 to get a starting QB and picking up a top-of-the-line OL or DL with the top choice isn't a bad deal. I'm sure the Chiefs are exploring the possibilities of dropping down, but I wouldn't say it's urgent for them to do so (especially when there probably won't be much interest from other teams to move up to No. 1).

Nick Saban must even try and control the combine. Alabama has 10 players listed but seemingly little participation in the measured and timed workouts if you look at results list.

Saban is an ass, but he's smart. Teams need to start trusting what they see in game action as opposed to going apeshit over high jumps and 40 times. You don't see many linebackers run 40 yards in a straight line and then stop, unless that punt just went into the end zone for a touchback.

Off the top of my head, I think the Steelers did it to get Polamalu and Holmes, and IIRC, the 49ers did it to get Rice.

Dee Milner 4.31 40. He just ran into a few million more. ' Bama must tell their guys to participate if they have a good idea of their metrics.

I wouldn't take him in the first round and I don't believe he will be a big star but I do think he is worth a 3rd or 4th round pick.

He won't fall that far. I'll be very surprised if he falls out of the second.

He might, if only for the fact that if he doesn't succeed, it will be a prominent failure, something that GMs really don't want to have to deal with. A 1st or 2nd rounder that doesn't pan out is a risk, but if T'eo doesn't it gets magnified. In the risk averse NFL(post Al Davis), I think most teams would rather take him in the 3rd but pass in the 2nd.

Maybe Jerry Jones takes him early.
