Another brain fart by the coaching staff of the Vikings and they were lucky to get away with it...

You are winning by 14, you forced the other team to punt from its endzone -- why the fuck are you rushing the punter there?

The only thing you want is the ball and you are going to get it in good field position -- you've done your job as a defense, there is no reason to go after the kick for the block because again, risk/reward, is not worth it.

They were lucky it wasn't the 15-yard penalty there.

 

Buck, what the hell are you talking about? The Vikings didn't accept the penalty. Dallas did. Good lord.

Why does Joe Buck keep saying it was the Vikings' decision to decline penalty? Duh!

 

AGH. He keeps saying it. Minnesota did not accept the penalty. It was a penalty on the Vikings, running into the kicker. Say something Aikman. Or a producer.

 

And he's still saying that the Vikings accepted the penalty. Tebow, some in the truck correct him.

 

He said it three times. Good Tebow, Buck's having a bad one.

Finally he corrected himself.

 

I just logged on here to bitch about Buck belaboring the running-into-the-kicker thing.

I don't understand why teams ever rush the punter, frankly. Especially if it's fourth and 5 or less. It's much more likely some idiot will run into the kicker than he'll get a block, giving them an easy first down.

And then, three times in a row, Buck said, "It's 3rd and 10." He said nothing else between each sentence. Bizarre.
