Any of the teams that would have finished ahead of the Jets without the two walkovers deserved it more.

Agreed. This one is on the offensive line and Jason Garrett. At one point, when it was still 17-3, Jones had gashed the Vikings up the middle for several impressive runs. First down, what does Garrett do? He runs a sweep with Barber. They hadn't run the ball well outside all game long, and he does it in a crucial moment with his slowest, injured back.

Moronic. Then the line gets Romo sacked and Suisham misses a field goal.

Dallas needs a consistent kicker and some massive help on the offensive line. They need an immediate replacement for Kosier and they need an eventual replacement for Adams on the left side. Maybe Adams can move inside and they can find a new left tackle. Adams is getting old and Columbo isn't much younger.

    No.

They do the sulk about as well as any team in the major sports.

maybe....but for the Chargers crying bothers me more. The Jets have just sucked for a long time....the Chargers whine. I love seeing LT and Rivers lose, just a bunch of bitches.

The biggest piece of shit this playoff season? Dallas.

Again: None of those teams did anything to earn the playoff berth in the penultimate month of the season. The Steelers and Texans were arguably hotter at the end of the season, but spent November disintegrating. Had they done anything at all in the third quarter of the season, they're in.

The Jets positioned themselves to take advantage of the dog-ass Colts and Bengals.

Really? For winning a game in dominant fashion and losing in a rout to a better team on the road in a place where that team hadn't lost all season? That's worse than, say, New England? Green Bay, who many people picked to represent the NFC, giving up 51 points and losing? San Diego, hottest team coming into the playoffs, losing to a 9-7 team?

    BS

    They were 7-7

Give everyone a 2-0 finish after Game 15 on walkovers, and the Jets don't sniff it.

How on earth is that possible, since Dallas torched a team twice in a row, one that was one win in Week 17 from a bye week.

Because if you kick it deep, they Jets aren't going to take any chances with Sanchez so if you do stop them on fourth down they punt it - and if you have a minute in football with as many ways as you can stop the clock on offense - spiking the ball, throwing incomplete, going out of bounds -- you give yourself a chance.

There is no way with a time-out and the two minute warning you kick onside there, no way. In doing so you give a good rushing offense four plays to pick up ten yards instead of only three. They aren't going to kick in that situation, be it a punt or long field goal, so you know they have one extra down.

Cowbell, I'm not arguing with you that the Jets' last two opponents laid down. But if the Steelers, Texans, et al, don't suck in November, then the Jets are sitting home at 9-7. That simple. Nobody else did enough to earn the playoff berth.

The Jets pissed away a few, too, including the loss to the Falcons. And they needed a gift to get in. That's the part that bothers me. Nobody handed the Texans or Steelers any games the way the Colts gave Week 16 to the Jets.
