agreed. i am not at all defending brooking's overreaction on the field. what minnesota did was horsespit. it served absolutely no purpose other than to further embarrass the other team. and that is horsespit.

Yes. Because we all know Brett doesn't care about himself or his stats or about being the center of attention. Why would Childress ever think Favre's ego needed coddling, even up 27-3 in the last two minutes of a playoff game?

Please, for the love of God, stop using words like "horsespit." JFS.

Oh and this is my favorite story of the day:

Saints intentionally limited Reggie Bush's touches during the regular season so that he'd be healthy and productive in the playoffs. Boy he sure is tough. Imagine if everyone else was subjected to the Bush Rules. The Saints would have had to start Mark Brunell three or four times. Marquis Colston would have taken a couple games off. Darren Sharper would have been inactive two or three times. Funny how the Jets are able to rotate running backs without anyone sitting out.

But it's OK with Reggie b/c he's an athlete, and anyone who questions his toughness is just some insufferable guy typing on a computer.

Do you want me to sit here and explain to you what horsespit really means?

To answer your question on kicker trades, I don't know if it's happened since, but the Saints got Olindo Mare for a draft pick in 2007.

Russell treats the weight room and the playbook as off-field distractions.

I'd still like an explanation for what's unclassy about it at the pro level. It seems like such a made-up, random rule. There's no reason behind it.

Going for a big hit in an out-of-control game? That I could see as unclassy, you are risking hurting the other team when the game is already over. But completing a pass? Doesn't hurt anyone.

And that jackass "Pants on the ground" dance in the locker room didn't help. What the hell was that all about?
