Yep. And 50 years from now, people will look at his career in agate type and wonder "how come this promising pro flamed out so quickly?" Damnedest thing ever.

It's almost as if QB evaluation is difficult and unpredictable.

Totally whiffed on Kelly in the USFL.

Vince Young had a nice college career. Played 3 years.

Kurt Warner only started one year. At Northern Fuckin' Iowa.

I'm not sure if there is a distinction being made here between Division I programs and everything else or not but didn't Cam Newton start two seasons in college?

Pretty sure O'Brien didn't play as a rookie

I made the D-1 distinction. I know he won a national title at Blinn.

Fair enough. I missed the distinction. Carry on.

Obviously, Trubisky starting only 13 games is a potential red flag. But he did play in 30 games. His learning curve might not be quite as difficult.

Trubisky's learning curve will be difficult largely because of the system he played in at North Carolina. It was good he got some playing time off the bench early on and a spot start here and there, but there is obviously a different kind of pressure knowing you are the guy who will be expected to take the first snap in every game. That can be forgiven. He just didn't play a pro-style offense and didn't have to lead a huddle. That will be the thing to watch.
