I'll listen to any argument that Brees is the MVP, though I'll likely disagree. I'll at least listen. As long as the argument doesn't contain stupid shit like "AR is a system quarterback" and "Matt Flynn is proof."

The people backing Brees here can't seem to grasp that no one is bashing Brees. He's an outstanding player, and he'd be great if he played in a parking lot. Rodgers is just better, and he had a better historic season. They're both still great and I'd give just about anything to watch them play every week than continue to subject myself to the blah quarterback in my NFL city.

Well, unlike me having to spend time convincing y'all that Mississippi State's got a pretty decent basketball team this season, the NFL MVP question is a no-brainer.
Just like when Marino set his yards-in-a-season record back in the 1980s, and got the MVP, Brees will claim the same prize now.
Brees has been sensational this season (again).

Brees is the only quarterback who has been sensational this season.

Marinos year statistically was far more impressive. 3 QB's had over 5000 yards. Who was 2nd to Marino and how far back were they?

For the record, if you look at the first page of the thread, I said Rodgers is the MVP. I was reacting to a Brady supporter who argued Brady over Brees, based on his dismissing Brees statistical edge on Brady for being indoors. Again, nothing shows that it's much of a hindrance at all to primarily play outdoors.

Nobody knows how this offense will perform in elements because they so seldom play in them.

A dumb thing to say. "Oh, garsh, I believe I can fly because ... because I believe I can!!"

He's not just saying that. The Saints are sixth in the NFL in rushing this year. If you watched the Detroit game, they were balanced in run vs. pass when they need to be. They are also deep at RB so they can wear you down.

I heard Danny Sheridan earlier this year that in a bad weather game in Lambeau, he actually likes the Saints over the Packers, mainly for that reason. The Saints have a better run-blocking OL with their guards and they have a better stable of running backs with Thomas, Ivory and Sproles.

New Orleans had a tender road schedule this year with trips to Jacksonville, St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Carolina (and somehow managed to lose two of those games). The Saints could also be getting a break in the weather if they do have to go to Lambeau. It's been an unusually mild winter in the region. The field did not look the least bit beat up in the regular season finale.

What is he supposed to say? "Our offense is a one-trick pony, built on performing in ideal conditions. If we have to play at Green Bay, we are screwed. For the love of God, let the Good Giants show up against the Packers."
