Just because either would trade the MVP for another shot at a Super Bowl win doesn't mean the MVP doesn't mean anything. It's a reward for a great season, it's just not the ultimate award.

Which MVP award is THE MVP award? AP? PFWA? Bert Bell? Sporting News? Newspaper Enterprose Association?

The SportsJournalists.com poll above is the only one that matters, right?

My mom still has a participation trophy of mine from freshman football in 1983. I can change the engraving on it from "Freshman football, 1983" to "NFL MVP."

So does today's result sort of put Brady back above Rodgers and Brees as the unquestioned king of quarterbacks in the NFL now?

It sort of does with me, But it would be like 1, 1B and 1C as opposed to 1-2-3 if you were to rank them.

Holy hell, Brian, BRADY said he sucked today. Is he responsible for Cundiff choking? Is he responsible for Wilfolk playing great? Get real.

I'm not placing Brady on top for how he performed in today's game or any one game. I'm placing him there because he's back in the Super Bowl and his two main rivals at the position have both only been once.

Even if if the Giants win, I think Brady leading this Patriots team with that defense back to the Super Bowl puts him back at the the top. This is not the same Patriots team that was around at the beginning of the Brady years. Far from it.

Sure, he sucked today, but all three of the "elite" QBs struggled in the playoffs in a way. Rodgers did not have a great game against the Giants. Brees threw those interceptions at San Fran that put them in a hole.

    Patriots fanboi here.
1 Brees. Then Brady or Rodgers. Don't care who is ahead of who.

Rodgers wins in the 48-2 landslide it should have been.

Anyone who thought someone else should have gotten it is nuts. If GB had gone for the statistics like NO did Rodgers would have had a video game season.

Brees was great this year but Rodgers was spectacular.
