Agreed. There's a difference, though, between trading up for the number one pick and having it earned by lack of merit the previous year.

The Eagles would be dumb to make the series of moves RJ is suggesting. Not saying it won't happen, because, what the hell do I know? But I'd put it at "highly improbable." They're too good with Foles for it to make sense giving up all that depth at other positions to get a QB.

Oh, I agree. Philly could make virtually no changes this off-season and they'd have a pretty good shot at making the playoffs. They might even be the favorite in the East depending on what the Cowboys do with their free agents. They'd be better off adding depth and trying to win with Foles than giving up a ton for Mariota.

I just wonder if Kelly really wants Mariota that badly or if this is another deal like a couple years ago when everybody thought Doug Marrone was going to pick his QB from Syracuse.

On NFL Network on Sunday they said the Seahawks were prepared to make Wilson the highest-paid player in the NFL.

I'm guessing this will be a contract that resembles the ones Rodgers and Flacco signed and not the team-friendly ones that Kaepernick and Dalton signed.

Is he worth it? Can they sign him and Lynch and not have to cut the rest of the roster?

Is there such thing as legal possession of an alligator?

So ESPN is showing images of the Pats' charter planes landing at Logan. It's snowing like hell here still and the temperature is nine. The team will now take buses to Foxboro and encounter their frigid cars which I assume were shoveled out by stadium minions. I can't help wondering how this experience is affecting Revis's future plans.

NFL suspends Browns WR Josh Gordon for year - Yahoo Sports

NFL makes it official and suspends Josh Gordon for the 2015 season. Of course, his response to being busted was to argue that it was stupid that he wasn't allowed to drink and that he thought the time he wasn't allowed to drink was officially over when he did it. In other words, Gordon still isn't taking responsibility for his many screw ups, but the Browns are apparently holding out hope that he will mend his ways.
