  2. Hoyer is free agent.
Leaves the hot mess that is Cleveland? I think so.
I think he'll be one of the my most sought after FA this (off)season.
Where does he end up and how much money are we talking? So many teams need a QB upgrade.
I think he's a Neil O'Donnell situation, and will get a ton of cash.

Hoyer is an interesting one. How much do you pay for a guy like that? Who looks at their QB situation and thinks, "If we sign Brian Hoyer, we're set."

Hoyer is not getting big money. He was so bad late last season, the Browns benched him. The Browns. After a full season of games, it's obvious Hoyer is a capable backup but nothing more.

Was he benched because he sucked or because they wanted to see how big of a mistake they made with Johnny Football? I realize it was probably a combination of the two.

I wouldn't even give him what the Bucs gave McCown.

    No, he sucked.

I would think very few teams would be stupid enough to pay big money for Hoyer.

It only takes one. I just don't see a fit for him anywhere. He might be better off staying put and banking on Manziel rotting on the bench another year. The Browns have two No. 1s this year. Watch them waste another on a QB. Couch, Quinn, Weeden, Manziel. Has any other team taken four QBs in the first round in the last 16 years?

I think Chad Henne's contract is about the max Hoyer can hope for.

Agreed. Maybe halfway through the season, Hoyer looked like he might get a pretty good deal in free agency, but he was terrible later in the season and fully earned his benching.

I'm not sure how it was comparable to Neil O'Donnell, who actually had a very good season with the Steelers in '95. He may have made two ugly mistakes in Super Bowl XXX, but he was a big reason they got there. Was much of that the product of a deep group of receivers and an outstanding offensive line? Sure, but not all of it.
