  1. I think Kelly has proven when it comes to personnel he's a savvy dude.
I think this will work out for him.
    Rexy? Not so much.

This was a foolish trade, based on Kelly's conviction his system makes players and not the other way around. System coaches fail just like system players.

Jackson, gone. McCoy, gone, Maclin? Probably gone. Anyone get quotes from Foles yet? Bet he's happy about this.

Foles would be next on the list, but what does Kelly have left to trade for the Mariota pick?

Draft picks. Lots of draft picks.

OK, first strip your offense of its main threats. Then trade for QB of your dreams by giving away draft picks needed to replace said threats. Watch as QB becomes next Manning -- Archie, that is.

I suppose they could fill some of those holes in free agency now, seeing as they have somewhere around $30M to play with.

This definitely reminds me of the Great Spurrier Experience, only Kelly seems like he can coach a little. We'll see if he can properly shop for the groceries now.

I think it's a bit of ego on Kelly's part that he probably thinks he can very easily find a back who can put up similar numbers in his offense. He may very well be right.

McCoy was due almost $10 million this season.

My biggest surprise was that draft picks weren't involved.

I agree that Kelly is night and day better than Spurrier, but it is pretty typical of a lot of the college coaches who come in and think they're smarter than everyone else, because, for the most part, in college, they were...

How is he to find a suitable replacement for McCoy on the free agent market who doesn't also cost that much? If he thinks any old back can be plugged into his offense and rip off big gains in the NFL, he's delusional. The Patriots can do that because they have Brady, so in the final analysis, most opposing teams WANT them to run the ball.

I think I heard that this trade happened 11 years to the day after the Portis-for-Bailey trade. Trades like this don't happen often, which I think is bullshit. MORE TRADES!
