Really? I saw a lot more people -- including NFL scouts and GMs -- saying Manziel was a first-rounder than echoing Jaws' take that he wouldn't take him in the first three rounds.

Jaws is good at breaking down game film.

This is also the guy who said Colin Kaepernick would become an all-time great.

Yeah, well, good for him, I guess. I don't know what to tell you. But if you're relying on Ron Jaworski for your NFL intel....again, I don't know what to tell you. Good luck with that.

I'm not relying on anyone. I've always liked Jaworski's Xs and Os stuff (I'm kind of a nerd for that), but anyone predicting what any team is going to do on draft day is almost always just guessing -- and that includes the local beat guys. I'm just telling you people who take him seriously aren't idiots. With a very few exceptions, he's no worse than anyone else out there.

Agree to disagree. I've already stopped caring about Ron Jaworski. I'll go back to forgetting he even exists.

Ira Kauffman says the Bucs will take Winston as long as he doesn't fuck up between now and April 30. He also said a few months ago that Lovie Smith would never take a QB with the No. 1 overall pick.

    WHO DO I TRUST!?!?!?!?!?!?

"I believe Colin Kaepernick can be the best QB arguably in the history of the NFL."

    - Ron Jaworski

As I said, when it comes to the draft, almost nothing you read until draft day is worth a flip. From about the combine until the draft, pretty much anything any NFL employee tells you is a lie and/or a smokescreen.

If you're giving me a gotcha, congratulations. I never said Jaws was a genius or right about everything. I said he's no worse than anyone else spouting out there. I'm sure there were other NFL talking heads predicting greatness for Kaepernick, too.

I like his X's and O's stuff. I take that seriously. You can make your own evaluation.

Not a shot at you. Just a shot at Jaws from a bitter Niners fan. :D

How many people on this board said the 49ers should keep Alex Smith?

Sure, Jaws was a little overboard with that statement, but this performance has to be in the top 10 of the greatest I have ever seen on a football field.

Colin Kaepernick, 49ers thrash Packers 45-31

    181 rush
    263 pass

You almost never see that on a Friday night or all day Saturday, not even considering the NFL freeking playoffs.

There's no question that was an all-time performance. I find it amusing that almost all of Kaepernick's best performances were against the Packers.

As far as Alex Smith is concerned, the notion that the Niners should have kept him is idiotic. They got two second-round picks for him, one of which was one of the first picks of the round.

A friend who covers the Niners thinks Smith's departure is a big reason why Kaepernick has regressed over the last two seasons. He said Smith did a great job explaining to Kaepernick what Harbaugh and/or Roman were telling him to do. If that's the case, the Niners really need to bring in a veteran backup. I read something saying they might be interested in Vick.

Oh, yeah, Vick'd be a great mentor. Real student of the game.
