NFL offseason thread

    Well, it's not 2001.

    He's been a pretty good team guy since he came back. There aren't that many guys who have had his level of success who are willing to accept a role as a backup and mentor.

    Kaepernick's biggest problems are in his head, so a player who has made every mistake imaginable and come back to salvage his career could teach him a lot.

    Vick has ended up as the starting quarterback in both of the places he was "mentoring" the young player.

    He also knows zilch about how to read a defense, is what I think Gee was getting at.

    Aside from one 10-game stretch a few years ago, Vick has routinely made the same boneheaded mistakes he's made since his rookie year. In 11 seasons, he's made no improvement whatsoever to his most glaring issues - accuracy and turnovers.

    Sounds like the perfect mentor.

    Gronkowski would be a better backup QB than Gabbert.
