The bar is set, failure to carry his team to multiple conference championships games, winning a few and at least 1 SUper Bowl is the measure of Newton,now. Anything less and he has underperformed. He's better than Jay Cutler, but only if exceeds Cutler's accomplishments

 

I've always wondered how teams have to deal some of these middling qbs when their contracts are up. You could always franchise them, but you might have to pay them more than under a formal contract. But the upside is if you do decide to dump them after a downturn in performance you don't take the cap hit. I figure it is all in how the contract is structured.

 

John Bowlen Jr. on leave to deal with a pesky little domestic violence matter. I guess this means he doesn't get to be Pat's son until the charges are resolved.
