Huh? Since when is alcohol a drug? You've got the ATF and the DEA, so there is a difference.

If he was on some kind of probation / substance ban that included alcohol, he should have taken any substance abuse classes / re-education camps a lot more seriously. But it can be really tough to beat drugs and give up alcohol at the same time. Maybe as tough to ask a smoking alcoholic to give up smoking as well as drinking.

If there is a rehab program out there that advises patients to go ahead and keep on drinking, we'll just work on the heroin/cocaine/meth for now, I'm certainly not aware of it. Would run pretty far afield of what most doctors would say.

But this is about his fifth brush with the NFL policy anyway. That includes DUI, which means there's a damn good reason alcohol is on his list of no-nos.

I'm pretty sure you have no idea how addiction and substance abuse work.

NJ.com reporting that the Rams are interested in trading for Nick Foles.

The more pertinent question is whether the Eagles are interested in trading Nick Foles.

I get the sense that they are. They may need the extra picks if they're going to move up to get Mariota.

If Philly is going to trade up to the No. 1 spot, it's going to be one of the most complicated draft pick trades in a long time. It's one thing when you're asking a team to move down to No. 4 or No. 5, but when you're talking Philly at No. 20, it's going to look like they're giving up more than what Washington gave up for RG3. It won't be, of course, because Philly's picks aren't likely to be top 5 or top 10.

I'm not sure what you can get for Foles. I'm guessing at least a No. 2, and possibly a little more.

Is the idea that they're moving up to get to Mariota? If so, do you think they'll have to get to No. 1 to do that?

He shouldn't have to. But, if he's convinced that Mariota is the guy he needs to win in Philly, why would you risk moving up to No. 5 and keeping your fingers crossed that he falls.

There are so many teams that need QBs that if there is a guy who you really like, you might as well go all the way to No. 1 to make sure you get him.

Personally, I don't think Mariota is worth it, but who knows?
