He's the best QB they've had since Jim Kelly and that seems to be the going rate for a top-10 QB, which Allen is.

I really want to know what Lamar Jackson's excuse is. I really like him. At least I did. He has taken racist abuse from people like Clay Trumpist and has simply gone about his job.
Now he tests positive. If he refuses to get vaccinated, he effectively separates himself from his teammates in certain cases. There are some places in the building that the unvaccinated cannot go if others are present. If you're the team leader at any position and certainly at QB, you have an obligation to be there for teammates whenever feasible. You surely shouldn't place obstacles in the way of your leadership. To say nothing of the fact that refusal to be vaccinated imperils your own health and increases the chances that all of your teammates will be saddled with forfeiture of a game result and a paycheck.
I can figure out what Kurt Cousins' excuse is. His father is a Trumpist pseudo-Christian preacher/klansman whose alleged religion forbids him from expressing concern for others and prioritizes others' misery over all else. That's where Cousins is coming from.
Where is Jackson coming from? Who is he trying to own?

There have been enough breakthrough cases lately that I wouldn’t automatically jump to that conclusion.

It is. Looks like 49% of Whites have been fully vaccinated but only 38% of Black people have been.
But unlike many others, Jackson does not have logistical impediments to being vaccinated. He has access to transportation and an employer that is willing to facilitate the process. So that's not the problem.
I still want to know the reason. He's a public figure whose refusal emboldens refuseniks but whose willingness could inspire people to do the right thing.
From a purely selfish standpoint, he's also trying to negotiate a contract extension without an agent. This is the sort of thing that could be held against him. There are so many reasons to get a simple shot.
Kirk Cousins doesn't care. He has made his millions and he seems to revel in inspiring rebellion. For that klan, refusal is an extension of January 6.

I’m unsure what’s more boring, contract discussions or halls of fame discussions.

Is a third-string TE really worth the headache?

    Contracts.

At least HOF discussions are your personal preferred stats and anecdotes against someone else’s and you get to call the other person an ignorant slut for not using your preferred stats.

Contracts are just arguments over how many millions a rich guy is going to get from an organization worth billions and somehow us plebeians are supposed to care.

It’s a risk because he plays in a way that might get him hurt. Ditto with Dak. Love to watch both. They’re bound to get hurt.

Because of the cap, contracts are a huge deal.
