That won't happen as long as Newsome is there... He's too good...

You give a quarterback with half a personality Flacco's stats over the first 5 years of his career, and you'd say he's on his way to a HOF career. But Flacco? Nah. Not even close!!!

    Makes no sense.

    First 5 years....

    Eli: 71 starts, 42-29 (59%), 4-3 playoffs, 1 Super Bowl, 98 TD, 74 INT, 55% comp, 14,623 yards
    Flacco: 80 starts, 54-26 (68%), 9-4 playoffs, 1 Super Bowl, 102 TD, 56 INT, 61% comp., 17,633 yards

Sanchez is 4-2 in the playoffs. But his highs aren't nearly as high as Flacco's and his lows are way lower than Flacco's.

    Try again.

Add in: Record number of road playoff wins by a quarterback. Yes, it's an obscure record. But it's the sort of fact that sits well with the Hall committee.
There's also the trendline to consider. Prior to this year Flacco was regarded as a decent quarterback who had yet to ascend a level. Well, he's ascended. And it's quite possible that like Brady, his individual passing stats will improve as his team becomes more dependent on him in its offense. I agree with Sonner. Flacco gets hit by a bus today, he's not in. But there's nothing in his record that says he's NOT a candidate.

Mizzougrad putting Sanchez in there tells me Mizzougrad is in the position, common for him, of defending a position that he's coming to realize is indefensible.

I don't know what is going to happen in the next five years... Five years from now Flacco could have three rings and be on his way to Canton... We could also be sitting here five years from now saying, "Can you believe how stupid Baltimore was to give Flacco a $100 million deal back in 2013?"

End of regular season: Flacco's good, but let's see him keep winning playoff games and make a Super Bowl
/Flacco makes it to the Super Bowl

Five minutes before Super Bowl: Well, Flacco's good, and he's made a Super Bowl and all, but let's see him win it!!
/Flacco completes 11 TD, 0 INT playoff run, wins Super Bowl, wins Super Bowl MVP

Five minutes after Super Bowl: WELL, LET'S SEE HIM DO THAT EVERY YEAR!!!!! UNTIL THEN, HE'S STILL NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ELITE EVEN THOUGH HE'S DONE EVERYTHING WE'VE ASKED OF HIM AND EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ELITE MEANS!!!!

Which QBs rank below your ELITE group but ahead of Flacco?

    Career high, TDs: 25
    Career low, INTs: 10

Yardage numbers usually high, surprisingly so for the team he plays on.

    Is he "Elite"?

    - Do his numbers scream "Hall of Fame"?
    - Is he a guy who you think would put a QB-needy team over the top?
    - Is he a guy who could take mediocre pass catchers and make them effective?
    - Is he someone you fear on every single play and in clutch situations, or just someone who you know can hurt you under the right circumstances?
    - Is he the key cog in multiple victories, every season? A guy without whom the team would falter heavily?
    - Is he someone who not only must be accounted for, but who has a reputation for destroying many kinds of defenses?

No... I think Sanchez sucks... I think Flacco is very good quarterback. I put Sanchez there because none of us know what is going to happen in the next five years and to start talking Canton for Flacco at this point is pretty stupid...

You and 3OF were the ones who said Flacco is not going to the Hall of Fame so he is not "elite."

I agree that it is stupid to evaluate that way. I don't know why you do it.

Matt Ryan for one... Cutler is a better passer than Flacco, not sure I'd put him ahead of him though... You look at the younger guys, I'd rather have Luck, RG3 or Kaepernick than Flacco.
