To Cooper's credit (I guess), he has unequivocally apologized:

Two months after the incident occurred. He's sorry the video leaked.

To be fair, you aren't going to publicly apologize for something that isn't public knowledge.

Cooper now says he's been fined by the Eagles:

Now Marcus Vick (Michael's brother) has jumped into the fray:

The ball looking like it's underthrown as it leaves his hand is the cherry on top.

It's real stupid: there should still be SOME kind of rooting interest (AFC vs NFC) for fans to latch onto. Of course it's not like the days in the 1970s and 1980s when the AFL-NFL war was still within memory, but having conference vs. conference means most fans have at least seen a fair number of players on "their" team more than once or twice a year.

I give it 3 seasons, then they pull the plug altogether. Maybe just play flag football on the Hawaii beach.

This reminds of when the Senior Bowl scrapped the North vs. South format in the early 90s. They were having trouble splitting the teams evenly and there were a couple of lopsided games, so they went to "AFC vs. NFC."

There was a huge hue and cry from the fans, attendance fell, and they switched back after a couple of years. Now, they just stick guys from USC or Arizona State on the South (and occasionally put Kentucky or Virginia guys on the North) to even things out.

I think the only reason they haven't done away with it already is the player bonuses. Not just the first selections -- because it would be easy enough to make a "Pro Bowl" team and be done with it -- but the replacements for all the "injured" players are raking in hundreds of thousands (maybe millions?) of dollars and a free trip to Hawaii. All things considered, it's a decent-sized chunk of change and something the league can't probably cancel unilaterally because of all the income opportunities that would be denied to the players.

Why don't they have an AFC vs. NFC Pro Bowl Ryder Cup at Kapalua instead? I personally would totally watch a Suggs vs Suh singles match.
