Not taking a QB No. 1. In their defense, somewhat, there is a paranoia based on the past that who KC bypassed will become a franchise-changing stud.

If any of the QBs in this draft become franchise changing studs, EVERYBODY in the NFL is going to be surprised, even the teams that draft them.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, though no idea who it would be.

I wonder how much Cam Newton's somewhat unexpected early success is helping Geno Smith. I thought Newton would be OK, but I certainly didn't expect him to make an instant impact as a rookie.

The next Russell Wilson might be in this draft, but there's definitely not a next Andrew Luck or RG3.

    Agreed.
IIRC, Kansas City took tackle Donald Stephenson in the third round one pick ahead of ...

Heard Hugh Douglas say today if Geno Smith's caller-ID shows the Raiders on the line, not to answer.

And they got rid of Pioli in the process.

All year, it seems they were always pleading to get rid of Pioli, Crennel and Cassel. Now they all are gone (or will be soon), replaced by a GM from a great organization, one of the best fits in a coach and the best QB they could have hoped to get.

Now it's time for them to STFU.

Yeah, what QB doesn't want to go to a team that will almost certainly be undergoing a coaching change at the end of the season?

If Holmgren goes there as rumored, it might not be as bad. If that happens, the Gruden rumors will start immediately, not that there will likely be anything to it...

One of the CBS Sports guys has Eric Fisher going No. 1... I think that's the first time in any mock that I've seen him mentioned as a possible top pick...

One of them also has Barkley going to the Jets. Replace one USC quarterback with another...

The one thing that this year's QB crop has going for them is that six of the teams picking in the top 10 have a need at QB.
