Boldin makes the Niners a better team; and for a 6th rounder too. Those huge catches in the SB? That's what the Niners were hoping to get out of Moss for just that one game; never got it.

He's a great run blocker. They will pop some long runs with him, especially when Karpernick gets to the next level. But he'll probably catch 50 balls. That's a lot for $6 million. It's great if you have the cap space. But hard to justify if you don't.

Assuming they decided long ago to say goodbye to Goldson -- which seems a safe assumption -- they have the cap space. It's the perfect deal for them because the obligation doesn't extend beyond 2013.

Without Smith and Goldson, that's $14.5M in cap space right there.

That's just it. They're in a position to buy now, because they have a severely underpaid in terms of performance quarterback, so gather they rosebuds while they may. I'd say they gathered a bargain.

Ravens might have a down year with Flacco, but they would have been pitiful without him.

@AdrianPeterson The best all around player I ever seen or you'll ever see! Goes to Seattle! I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. Several times!!

I'd say Boldin at $6 million is a bargain, or at the least, he's definitely not overpaid...

It also sounds like the Niners may be about to sign Ed Reed. I'm going to be really curious how much they'll have to pay for him, and what kind of deals Woodson and Wilson will sign.

Yeah, it's safe to say that without a significant hometown discount, Goldson is gone...

Tony Gonzalez tweets that he's coming back in 2013:

Let this be the end of all the motherfucking on-field retirement stories. They should have ended the fifth time Barkley retired or the first time Clemens did.
