    Top-10 picks 2006, 2009.

The franchise's last decade defined disaster.

The "experts" seem surprised by the Huff move?

Another shoe is going to have to drop for the Bears.

They can cut Kellen Davis and Matt Spaeth to cancel out Bennett, but Bushrod's gonna cost. My guess is Peppers either gets extended/restructured or cut.

Why? Revis is not a problem player on the field. Dave Wannstedt is with the Bucs no. He coached Revis at Pitt. That should help.

    http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/sports/steelers/colons-release-is-due-today-679060/

The Steelers keep Plaxico Burress and linebacker Larry Foote and plan to cut Willie Colon today. Colon was a long-time starter who has had the last two seasons cut short by major injuries. Also notable about Colon is that he took part in a certain infamous trip to a college bar in Georgia with Ben Roethlisberger.

The real issue is near the bottom of this report, though it's no surprise. The Steelers expect to lose Keenan Lewis as a free agent after he emerged as the team's best cornerback in 2012. Keeping Foote is a nice surprise, but Lewis is a more significant loss than Mike Wallace.

I like that too. I'd also like Ed Reed to head for SF. Guys who know how to win.

After they cut McClain and Tommy Kelly, the Raiders are going to have $32 million in dead money. And they probably don't have 10 starting-caliber players on the roster.

I will be shocked if they win four games.

It sucks, but you don't become a strong football team for an extended period by throwing money around during this part of the season. If he is asking more than he is worth, there is only so much they can do.

to echo the boomster, it's awfully presumptious to think they'd be a tough mix. revis has never been a problem for his coaches. i'd expect him to finally be contractually content once he gets a new deal.

that said, i'd stake whatever rep i hacw around here that all the breathkess, talk radio, espn/nfl net hysteria that any deal is imminent to be ridiculous, time-consuming, headline seeking drivel. no team is giving up what it would take in trade compensation AND also cough up what the jets should rightfully demand in return.

the first-time-ever jet gm is a cautious and patient man. he's not about to kick off his tenure by giving away the team's best asset for less than he's worth. neither is any other club going to get hosed by the jets and the agents before they've been reassured revis has fully completed the rehabd process, which won't be done 'til at least the end of august.

so this has a chance to be an old-fashioned trade deadline blockbuster. revis will have proven he's back to form by then, while several teams will be convinced revis is the missing piece in their playoff drive. only then can the jets expect close to what a healthy revis is worth -- and then the pressure is turned up in their scouting dept. to make sure they make the most of whatever 2014 draft compensatiion they acquire for revis.

patience, people, patience.this story is a marathon, not a sprint, much to the dismay of microwave nation.

Shockey what do you think Revis is worth? Would you take the 13th pick this year and perhaps a 3rd round next?
