Re: Revis. Another issue is that he's coming off a knee injury. I realize what Peterson did last year is making people think it's not that difficult to return from an ACL tear, but I think it's a mistake for any team to give up much for a guy who has proven to be a disgruntled employee AND is currently rehabbing from a serious injury.

He has Uncle Sean whispering in his ear who felt that he was screwed by the NFL system. He's not going to let his nephew have the same thing happen.

The Redskins screwed Gibert with franchise tag which probably accounts for why Revis insisted that it be taken out of his contract.

Scott Pioli makes me long for Matt Millen as the go to NFL expert.

I'm a lot more sympathetic to NFL players holding out for more money since the deals they sign aren't guaranteed...

But Revis does seem to fall into the "I'm never going to be happy" category and if teams are hesitant to welcome a guy like that, no matter how good he is, into their locker rooms, I can't really blame them.

IIRC, Revis is a cousin of Ty Law and Sean Gilbert, and I don't remember them having smooth contract negotiations through their careers.

That's what Boom was referencing, though I can't remember if Gilbert is his uncle or his cousin. Either way, I've read a lot about his influence on Revis.

It will be interesting to see if the Ravens can even re-sign Bryant McKinnie.

NFL contracts are beginning to get guaranteed (see Brady's latest); the problem with Revis' situation is IIRC he got a front loaded contract, then as they got to the back-end, he complained about being underpaid when he got his money up front already.

Are you ready for ... Bill Belichick, tweeter? A Q&A through his girlfriend's account (this apparently is not the Sharon of NJ housewife deposition fame, but somebody else named Linda Holliday). And the personality comes shining through!

It's too bad the Dolphins always get their biggest wins in March... :D

It's called leverage. If he couldn't play the team would have cut him. Why wouldn't he hold out for more money?

Ravens cut Bernard Pollard. Oddly, it only saves 1 million in cap space.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Ozzie really is blowing the whole thing up. Watch your back, Haloti Ngata.
