Hey now, I have some ideas on how to increase attendance:

    1) Win more than 6 games a year ---- well, at least every once in a while

    2) Make the stadium and parking lot a little safer.... fans who get home from a game without being mugged are more likely to come back

    3) Don't serve alcoholic beverages to people who can't walk in a straight line or pronounce "Raiders"

    4) Hire a PR staff that can make the ownership group look like something other than total douches

    5) Cut ticket prices... at least until you have a winning season again

Following these steps will help increase attendance by 20 percent or more

The next no-way-in-hell comeback candidate? Jevon Kearse is broke:

Made $45 million in an 11-year career that ended in 2009.

Oh I remember the days of seeing A's games when there was a beautiful view of the Oakland Hills in the background. And then came Mount Davis.

Hard to believe that he's been out of the league that long.

I think the Eagles made a good call on Vick. Even if he's one and done, it's a good way for a coach to get buy-in for his system to give the qb a shot and let the rest of the team see for themselves whether he can run the system or not.

I find the speculation on Flacco interesting. If I was a team without a QB, of course I'd go after him. Two no. 1s for Flacco is a good deal. The question is whether Flacco would sign an offer with a team that could kill his career. I wonder how many other franchises are going to have to pony up to hold on to quarterbacks they aren't sold on now.

Vick should be a pretty good fit for Kelly's system. I think PFT said his actual base salary is $7 million, which would be a lot if he was a backup (but not too bad) and a complete bargain if he's the starter...

A lot of interesting stuff on Flacco this week. I think some of the national guys are crazy if they think a team would give up two first-round picks to get Flacco, which is what would happen if they put the non-exclusive franchise tag on him. That said, it only takes one team to be that stupid, as the Raiders proved in the Carson Palmer trade from a couple years ago...

The teams that would be most likely to be interested in him (Browns, Chiefs...) have picks that are way too high to give up a top 10 pick and then a first rounder next year... I don't see that happening...

I think they'll work out a deal before then.

What can the Niners realistically get for Alex Smith? Since Kaepernick has a low cap number, they could easily keep both quarterbacks. I don't think they will, but I think it puts them in a position where they could get something for him. My gut feeling says a third-round pick, but maybe since there are so few decent quarterbacks out there, maybe they can get more than that.

If I'm the Niners, or any of the other teams that have a QB who runs a lot, I would also make sure to keep a pretty decent No. 2 QB, because of the injury risk.

The Ravens are crazy if they use the exclusive tag on Flacco. That would be $20 million.

If they use the non-exclusive tag, it would be $14.6 million and if another team could put an offer out there, but they would have to give up two first-rounders...

It would be fun to watch a team play chicken with the Ravens and frontload a contract and dare them to match it, but I don't think any team wants to give up two first-round picks for Flacco, Super Bowl MVP or not...

I'd be willing to bet Flacco winds up staying with the Ravens.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if a team considered giving up two No. 1s for Flacco.

I agree with this. I think they'll work something out.

I think he'll wind up signing for something between $18-$19 million... That's what the Ravens get for not locking him up a year ago...

Smith to KC would make sense... So would signing Flynn if Seattle cuts him loose.

I see all these mock drafts with Geno Smith going No. 1 and I just can't imagine how any team would take that guy with the No. 1 pick...

I know now that they've restructured the rookie deals, it makes a lot of sense to draft a QB in the first round. I just can't imagine Reid taking that guy. I think you would be much better off with Luke Joeckel and then dealing the No. 2 or No. 3 pick to SF for Smith than you would drafting Geno Smith.

In the admittedly limited time I spent watching West Virginia last season, I saw nothing to indicate Smith was a first round pick, let alone the first pick.
