it's finally done: bucs get revis from jets for no. 1 (13th) on thursday and a conditional 4 next year that will become 3 if he's on their roster the third day of the start of business next year
revis signed a strange six year, 96 mill contract with some medical protection for them; it's unclear but at least 40 mill or so is guaranteed, despite reports it's a nonguaranteed deal.

bizarre that there's not a big signing bonus to kick it off. but revis' agents believe 32 mill is guaraneteed 'cause no way the bucs cut him after year 1. hard to believe they'd cut him ater year 2, either, but wih an annual cap no. of a whopping 16 mill they've fotta be looking to re-do the deal after year 1. whatever.

The first thing Revis should do is send Adrian Peterson a big, fat check. Apparently, tearing your ACL is no big deal anymore. The Jets will suck but at least they got rid of a giant distraction and got a couple of good picks. Good start to rebuilding their franchise. On the other hand, the Bucs can look forward to Revis being maybe, hopefully sort of what he once was, and certainly bitching about his contract by the time next year's offseason rolls around.

As a Jet fan thrilled that they made the trade. A 9 and a 13 should get them two good players to build from.

He wasn't going to sign for a hometown discount and this year is going to be tough for the Jefs regardless, so better to get a decent haul for an asset which going to be miserable and then leave.

ESPN is sure making it sound like the Jets are going to use one of those picks on Ryan Nassib.

Not if Buffalo takes him first. What it might do is make it harder for the Bills to trade down and still get him.

wait, i thought espn was trying to sell us on the BILLS taking nassib at no. 8 to play for his college coach... by this time hasnt espn thrown EVERY possibiluty against the wall for its wall-to-wall draft coverage to be sure they can declare, 'as first reported by espn...'?

If the Jets want to prove that they are still indeed the Jets, they will trade up to take Nassib and they we'll find out later that the Bills never had any intention of taking him at No. 8.

I don't think the Bills have any intention of taking Nassib at No. 8. But who knows?

i agree. everyone's hot on the bills reuniting coach anf syracuse qb but i find it hard to believe he has the balls (or arrogance) to take the kid in round 1; he's such a reach at no. 8. yes, it would be typical of jets to give, say, clevelabd both no. 1 to move up to 6... but i dont think idik is that bold. i see him taking the surest things, like one of the guards and then best dl or olb....i

There is relatively little pressure on the Jets to make a bold move. If Idzik knows what he's doing, New York will target a couple non-QB impact players. The team is in a good spot with those two picks. No reason to waste one or hoth of them by reaching for a QB, which is a large part of what got them into this mess to begin with. Hopefully Idzik has learned from recent history.

Cimini just tweeted that the Jets are trying to trade down and accumulate a lot of picks...

As is apparently everyone else. If that was the plan with the Revis trade, it seems to have been kind of naive.
