Players that have a the raw tools get a longer leash than those that do not.

Bradshaw was a great example of this.

No matter how many games they play, if you cannot get the ball to a 10-yard out or a 15-yard hook, it's not going to magically happen overnight to some QBs.

Warren Moon tells USA Today that he believes black quarterbacks are still held back by the evaluators who view them unfairly.

Yeah, except a black QB went No. 1 in the draft in 2011 and No. 2 in 2012.

    And 2007. Don't forget Jamarcus.
Vince Young was also the first quarterback taken in 2006 (No. 3 overall) and Josh Freeman was a first-rounder in 2009.
Three of the last seven Heisman winners were black quarterbacks.
Clearly, we've made no progress as a society.

    PK's top 10...

    1. Joeckel
    2. Ansah
    3. Floyd
    4. Jordan
    5. Milliner
    6. Fisher
    7. Johnson
    8. Warmack
    9. Mingo
    10. Cooper

He has Geno Smith going to the Browns at No. 11, the Jets taking Austin at No. 13, Eddie Lacy going to Cincy at No. 21, Lotulelei falling all the way to the Packers at No. 26.

He's going to look like a genius if he's right on Ansah, Lacy or Lotulelei.

I can't believe Chip Kelly would pass on Fisher if he's there at No. 4, even to take one of his former players...

I'd be fairly stunned if he was right on Smith to the Browns.

  8. If Lacy is there for the Steelers I hope they pull the trigger.
I will be shocked if he's there though.

Gabbert's terrible. When I saw he threw what, 12?, TDs (less than 20) as a senior in a spread offense, that was a huge red flag.

Warren Moon's talking about collectively, sure there may be the star QB picked every year, but what about the Shaun Hills, Gradkowskis, who still roam the NFL landscape? There are not that many QBs of color who get those jobs (I know Batch is one).

You mean Shaun King, who's been out of the league for years?

Shaun Hill is the third-stringer for the Lions. Started a couple of games for the 49ers before they turned the job over to Alex Smith.

I think he meant Shaun Hill, who was a backup with the Lions in 2012. That would fit his argument better since Hill is white and King is not.

Gradkowski's not a bad backup. I was pretty happy to see the Steelers sign him. He's certainly an upgrade on what was left of Batch or being dumb enough to count on Byron Leftwich to stay healthy.

I haven't seen exactly what Moon said, but I doubt he meant that only the white scrubs get a fair shake. I feel for the guy. I do. It was an absolute disgrace that he had to go to the CFL for all those years before starting his NFL career. And that is why he ends up sounding like an idiot when he talks about the current NFL.
