Yes, I meant Shaun Hill, former 7th rounder, still with the Lions.

So your argument is that black QBs won't truly be getting a fair shake until more of them get shitty backup jobs where they'll never play?

You mean guys like Tarvaris Jackson, Charlie Batch, Terrelle Pryor, Jason Campbell, David Garrard, Josh Johnson, Joe Webb, Seneca Wallace, Tyrod Taylor, Dennis Dixon, Thad Lewis, Josh Portis and Byron Leftwich?

Yeah, too bad black guys can't land that kind of gig.

    It's a damn shame, I tell you.

No he won't. I've seen Ansah to the Jags on multiple mock drafts. And what's so genius about Lacy going to the Bengals? I've seen that one a million times, too. As for Lotulelei, I've seen mocks placing him anywhere from 4th to 26th, maybe lower.

Lacy being out of shape for his off season workouts scares me, but I doubt Bettis could have walked up a flight of stairs his last few years in the league.

  6. He's Bettis-like.
No Jerome Bettis that's for sure, but a significant improvement from the current crop (Mendenhall included) and a guy who provide immediate help to a the team and take some pressure of Roethlisberger.
If the OL can stay away from major injuries - they are overdue for healthy for a season - the offense can be the difference between 7-9 and 10-6 this season.

Granted I haven't study this draft much, but this is the first one I have seen where Lacy's still around at 17.
And again, this is a "meh" draft. Lacy and Jarvis Jones and Tavon Austin are the only guys I really like.
Though I don't like Austin as a Steeler, given their recent history with spending high draft choices on wideouts.

I keep seeing more and more talk of Austin being gone by the time they pick, anyway, though I'd be happy if he was their choice.

Lacy? Ugh. I hope not. The guy is a borderline first rounder on many lists and had a chance to move up if he had only gotten in shape for his offseason workouts, but he couldn't be bothered. A lineman who gets lazy about offseason conditioning is one thing (I miss Casey Hampton already), but a running back? No thanks.

Ansah to the Jags is picking up steam. I think McShay may have him going there now as well... I have not seen Lacy in the first round of too many mocks and I definitely have not seen Lotulelei that low. Maybe someone else has him falling that far, but most have him in the top 15.

    Didn't Spnited hate the draft?

I always think of him when I see a draft thread.

I hope the Bears' reported "love" for Manti Te'o is a way to get the Vikings to trade up and select him. As Brian Baldinger, of all people, pointed out, Te'o, whose weaknesses are speed and athleticism, is a terrible fit as a middle linebacker in that division. Packers and Lions tight ends and slot receivers would have a field day against him.
