At the risk of sounding like a bigot, I think there's certain people (Warren Moon and Richard Lapchick to name two) who wouldn't be happy unless EVERY starting quarterback and coach in the NFL were black. Progress has certainly been made in the last 30-40 years -- and especially in the last 20 -- and they refuse to acknowledge it. Even if we were 32-for-32 on the coach/quarterback front, those two and their ilk would probably question why it took so long for it to happen.

It's horrible what they've done to the white defensive backs. ::)

One of my fav stories is that my old roommate lived near Sehorn and his mother when Sehorn was in high school; mom asked my buddy if Sehorn could stay with him for a week so he did.

Sehorn did not play any hs sports. Buddy asks him what he likes to do and they go shoot some hoops. Buddy doesn't take much note of him.

What 20 years later, buddy goes back to the restaurant he worked at and talks to someone about the mom and says "whatever happened to her kid?" My buddy had no idea who he was. Finds out that guy was Sehorn.

Buddy recalls him as a reticent, non descript high schooler.

    Great story.

Well, he did play a year of HS football. Your buddy could have graduated by then, but he did play.

And why would a grown woman ask if a HS kid could stay with the family?

My buddy was a single guy in his early 20's; maybe the mom was just being safe rather than leave Sehorn on his own.

Paul Harvey? I don't get that.

Went around the block to tell a story that turned out to be not all that interesting.
