    Well that settles it then.

And he's not even close to whatever it is you call ELITE? If not, you suck at evaluating football players.

If you think almost half of the NFL quarterbacks are elite, then he's elite....

He has a ring. He has a great record as a starter. He has an amazing record in the playoffs.

Has he ever made a Pro Bowl? Has he ever had a MVP vote?

  4. This...
    He's a better version of Neil O'Donnell.

No way is he elite. Good? Yes. Elite? Nope.

Unless he winds up in Cleveland.

I never said he was elite. I'm not even quite sure what that means, although you seem to have a pretty good idea. I just laugh at your notion that he's "not even close" to ELITE!! Who's between your group of ELITE!!! quarterbacks and Flacco? The way you talk, there's quite a gap.

Unless Baltimore really isn't willing to commit to him (I doubt this...), I can't imagine him leaving.

I think the only way this gets interesting is if he's slapped with the tag where he can negotiate with other teams. Then, it would be really interesting to see if a team would offer him the kind of contract where it would really mess up Baltimore's salary cap.

Why not? He's got a Super Bowl title in his fifth season, has a playoff record superior to that of at least one surefire Hall QB I could name (hi, Peyton!) and is employed by a team that's been a consistent contender. Assume 7-8 more productive years for Flacco. He's got plenty of time for that Canton resume. It is my belief that as passing stats become ever easier to generate, and we all know that trend's never reversing, team success, rightly or wrongly, is going to figure more in a quarterback's Hall of Fame candidacy. And Flacco's done more than well in that regard.

Why isn't he on the HOF track? In five years, he's won 9 playoff games, 1 Super Bowl, 1 Super Bowl MVP, and he's won 68% of his regular season games. His INT rate is 2.2 percent compared to, for example, Eli's 3.2%.

Pretty good first 5 years. I'm not saying he WILL be a HOFer, but you also can't say he WILL NOT be, either.

Hell, I hope they give him the $20 million. Then, I can watch them cut loose Boldin and Ed Reed and a handful of other players that they will no longer be able to afford.

I can't say Marc Sanchez isn't headed to Canton either. He has a decent record in the playoffs too...
