If you do it this way:

--Jags and the first team they play are both on byes in, say, Week 8.
--Those teams play in Week 9.
--Week 10 opponent has a bye or plays on East Coast in Week 9 and then flies over directly. (This is pretty standard when teams have been going to London.)
--Week 11 opponent has a Week 10 bye or East Coast game.
--Week 11 game is the Thursday night event (if opponent had a Week 10 bye) or they just play on Sunday again.

Would let the Jags set up shop for a whole month and wouldn't create a whole lot of havoc for the other teams.

The biggest problem I see with the whole London plan is that players aren't going to want to do it if they have other options, thus it will hurt the team's ability to sign free agents.

The team I used to cover has turned them down multiple times. I don't understand why any team would ever agree to it.
Putting a team in London or Europe permanently would be a disaster. I don't care what Goodell says, it will never happen.

If the European games became huge successes, I could see Goodell possibly making every team play one game at a neutral site every other year or every fourth year and could have 8-16 games to play wherever they want... I don't get the sense there is the demand for this... A couple games a year? Sure... I don't think they're still playing preseason games in China or Australia anymore either...

I agree with Mizzou. The logistics of a team based outside of North America full-time would be a nightmare. Playing a couple of games overseas every year is one thing, but moving permanently is a different matter.

Toronto strikes me as a different deal. Eastern time zone, travel not much different than in the US. The NHL, NBA, MLB and MLS have all proven that you can operate a franchise in Canada without much difficulty.

Mexico could work, although I suspect there would be more hoops to jump through because of the language, economic and cultural issues. Could Mexico City, even with its huge population base, support a team at NFL prices? Would it be worth the hassle to the league? I'm really surprised the Cowboys aren't playing one preseason game there every year. They could draw 110,000 and not have to worry about the result. And, of course, sell more hats and jerseys in the process.

ESPN and NFL reporting the Patriots have signed Tebow. That is all.

Oh good, I was hoping that organization and fanbase could become more detestable.

Who wrote the Belichick hates Tebow story?

Seems like everyone knew this was coming...

Pats also released another QB (Mike Kafka) to make room for Tebow...

I read something that said they want him to double as a TE.

People in Gainesville and Jacksonville are buying season tickets so they can heckle Brady and scream that Tebow should be starting... :D

Vince Lombardi would have turned 100 today. Which means I'll be spending the evening watching old NFL Films clips of him when I get home. Can't get enough of that stuff. Lombardi's Legacy on ESPN the other night was fantastic, except for Ditka being worthless as usual. I could listen to Jerry Kramer tell stories all day long. Maybe I'll re-read Instant Replay again.
