Maybe I used hyperbole a bit, but you have a few things at play here. One, obviously alcohol (or at least I would hope so). Two, fans using an opportunity they seldom get (The 49ers have been bad lately and haven't won a playoff game, before Saturday, in a long while) to become rowdy. The Saints are one opponent that could stand between them and the Super Bowl, so they hate all things New Orleans.

All this being said, I disagree with their actions, don't condone them and I hope that those fans are outliers and not the norm in San Francisco.

Let me throw this out there:

    Tim Tebow

Thread's gone too long without a mention. Carry on.

Despite claiming to be a Cardinals fan, I hated their Super Bowl run. It wasn't real football and I'll never think they deserved to be in the Super Bowl.

    You're lying.

There's no way you could have been surrounded by fans of the other team during Packers games at San Diego and Atlanta. (Because I've been to both. Surrounded by my fellow Cheeseheads in each stadium.) :D

There was a one-year gap in there. The Saints beat the Colts in between those two Steelers appearances.

Yeah, I remember watching the Chargers game this year, and the loudest the stadium got was during Peprah's INT runback.

    THIS will always be funny.

Where has that dope been lately? We need his suffocating seriousness and lack of self-awareness on the Tebow thread.

    White hats:

    Al Riveron at New England
    Hercules Hochuli at San Francisco

Conspiracy theories will abound in the NFC, because there are ample reasons to believe the NFL would want either team in the Super Bowl and you know Hochuli is going to have enough fuck-ups to provide the evidence either way.

This might open it up for Jeff Triplette for the big game.

Carey hasn't headed a crew in the playoffs yet, has he? He's gotta be on deck for the Super Bowl, right? I can't see the NFL going through the entire playoffs without him heading up a crew.

I'm surprised at this sentiment. I know Hochuli had that awful game a couple of years ago (Chargers/Broncos, maybe?), but other than that, I've always thought of him as one of the game's best.
