I'm amazed at how many people can't pick up on obvious sarcasm.

Rice did not make Montana. Do.not.ever.think.that.

If you think that, you're simply showing your ignorance. Rice did not come along until 1985, after Montana had already won two SBs with Freddie Soloman and Dwight Clark as his wideouts and Lenvil Elliott leading the ground attack (okay Wendell Tyler in 1984). The 1984 team went 15-1 and arguably was one of the greatest teams ever.

Rice was a great player, someone who showed unbelievable dedication to his craft. But without Montana and Young, he's just another HOF WR (Moss' deep speed/Calvin Johnson strength off the line).

I thought the Steelers would shut down Tebow and liked how they just stacked the box to shut down the run but Tebow came up with great throws, something I did not think he could do. Can he do that consistently for the next 3 games?

The credit needs to go to the Broncos O-line, they gave him all the time to throw and moved the Steelers out for running room even with 10 in the box.

It wasn't the Soldier Field game in 1988, there Rice made a nice high catch, came down and spun away for a long TD. That was one of the 49er's greatest wins because it was on the road and the Bears had won the Super Bowl more recently than the 49ers. 21-0.

After that performance, if Tebow wanted to go out and get him a whore from LoDo, no one in the world would have protested.

  6. Hampton and Starks have ACL injuries that may require surgery.
Keisel has a severe groin injury that may also require surgery.

Surgery is also possible for Pouncey ...

Of course, the good news is they all have months to rest. ;D

As for the defense that gave up the season-ending play ... Tomlin declined to say if Munday was out of position.

    OoP --

Every team is beat up in Week 18. They looked old and bad.

In other words, Mundy fucked up and Tomlin is covering for his player.

There is a good chance that Starks would have been gone even if he wasn't hurt. Colon is under contract for next season and Gilbert could move to left tackle. The injuries to Hampton and Kiesel are bigger problems, especially Hampton. Given his eight and age, that could be a tough recovery and they don't really have a great option to take his place.

Every team is missing its leading tackler, has its top pass rusher turned invisible due to a bad hamstring and loses two starters before the midway point of the first quarter? Sorry, Herb. You have no idea what you're talking about.

It seems like the Steelers had been successful playing that way on first down the whole game. There was a play in the first quarter that both safeties teamed up for the stop behind the line of scrimmage on a running play. Don't know if the Broncos were setting a trap but their OC definitely called a good game. (I'm also thinking of the Fells catch when they lured Polamalu upfield and then broke the TE past them.)

Herbert, to you. Go look at a few of those Patriots teams that were beat to shit and had receivers playing in the secondary, and went all the way or deep into the playoffs. Aside from all that, this is why you build depth up and down the roster. It isn't an excuse.

    My apologies. Sorry missed it.
