I don't know. I don't think he'd retire until Brady does. He likes his job.

Yup. One more thing I hadn't realized until watching the replay on NFL Network just now. I missed the first quarter, so I hadn't seen the Ravens' interception return for a touchdown. Lots of people here putting the blame on Manning for a ball he put right on his receiver's hands.

not a chance. imagine how drive belichick and brady il be to top noll/bradshaw by getting one for the thumb.... belichick will coach until he keels over. he's got nothing else going on in his life besides coaching football; he won't be transitioning to a cushy tv gig once he's done. he's like mayo in 'officer and a gentleman: he's got 'no place else to go....'

I could see Belichick pulling a White Shadow deal when Brady quits and coaching/teaching history or something at a prep school in New England like Deerfield or Andover (where he went).

Belichick would be miserable in retirement (I know, I know). He's not the type of guy who can handle a mundane life. He's probably on the extreme end of Type A personalities.

Belichick went 5-11 his first year. Since then the Patriots Monster is 146-42 with 3 SB titles.

At some point we start ranking the greatest eras:

    Halas
    Lombardi
    Shula
    Noll
    Raiders
    Walsh
90s Cowboys -- difficult bc Johnson won just 2 titles
    Belichick

    Edit: Added Noll (thanks LTL).

But where does this Patriots Monster stack up against the giants that lasted at least 10 years?

Chuck Noll didn't do dick in Pittsburgh.

And that's the one I'm missing. Thanks.

    He's better than Peyton Manning.

Marv Levy could go on that list. George Allen too.

Betcha Joe Gibbs excites Redskins fans more than George Allen.
