I love that ball he threw to Polamalu a few years back.

Worst playoff QB of all time? Y.A. Tittle (0-4)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_starting_quarterback_playoff_records

    All-time QB records: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_wins_by_a_starting_quarterback_(NFL)

QB with most road playoff wins: Joe Flacco (5) ... and yes, I realize he has yet to get to a Super Bowl.

Without a doubt, Sunday is a big day in the career path of Flacco.

That's right. If Brady throws for 450 and five touchdowns and the Ravens lose 45-38, it's a huge blot on Flacco's record. I give up. This is my last NFL post here. The level of insight here (with a few honorable exceptions) is SEC college town talk show level.

THAT is the post that broke the camel's back?

It is a big game for Flacco. I mean, he is playing for the chance to go to the Super Bowl, a feat which would not only likely secure his financial future, but also get people to start talking seriously about him as the elite guy he says he is.

Would be nice if that happened.

But it probably would only get his name added to the list of "worst QBs to appear in/win a Super Bowl," based on the usual analysis.

I've watched the throw so many times. Flacco made the pass that was going to be one of those highlight moments Ravens fans would see forever, the pass that led the Ravens into the Super Bowl. It was a perfect pass.

And then it was a perfect defensive play.

That the Ravens didn't make the Super Bowl last year wasn't on Flacco. He made the pass great QBs make.

    6:35 mark. (This was a well-done video.)

Steelers were dead in the water until a rice fumble, a Flacco terrible pass and a Flacco botched snap (that happened this past weekend as well.)

People will start to forget games like this, and this was not even the Polamalu game, if he takes them to the Super Bowl. But until that happens, it has not happened.

If that's what you need to get thru a playoff season with no Steelers, more power to you.

He didn't exactly play like shit.

BTW, 2 of the last incomplete passes were:

    * Boldin drops it at the goal line, or it's 28-24 Ravens instead of having to settle for tying FG w/2 minutes to play.

    * Hoosmanzadeh (sp?) drops 20-yard pass on 4th and 19, ball game.

Reminded me that Flacco was victimized by two huge drops, a potential go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter that Boldin dropped, then he puts it right on the money to T.J. Houshyoumama (no, I can't spell it) on what would have converted a fourth-and-14 on the Ravens' final drive and it was dropped.

Also, minor Steelerjackish point. Remember when Ziggy Hood looked like he might be a player? Yeah, I had forgotten, too.
