While I recognize that this is mostly a joke, a few words.

Grantland did what I think is a really good thing today, exhaustively detailing the facts of the Ray Lewis case (backing them up with links and court documents) so that when people talk about this stuff, they can at least have a resource to get what really happened. And it's not kind to Ray Lewis, but it's better than "Ray Lewis stabbed some dudes and got away with it, yo!"

The prosecutor was a fucking moron, for starters. The state of Georgia got its chance with Ray Lewis, and it bungled the case quite badly. The only person who claims Lewis was involved in the fight was an admitted con man and perjurer. And the two gentlemen who were stabbed were not the promising young men who had turned their lives around, which is how I often see them referenced. Both of them had drug convictions and previous charges for violent crime. One of those psychos smashed a champagne bottle over someone's head outside that club, which is how a verbal altercation escalated into a double homicide.
