Yes, and the state of Georgia determined that Lewis' responsibility was to commit a misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice. Not murder, nor manslaughter.

For what. The defender clearly jumped over him to avoid contact.

So it's a reporter's job to make a mockery of the Super Bowl and ensure no Raven will speak to the media? By all means, head down there and try that. Let me know how it goes.

My point is, the criminal justice system determined Lewis's crime and gave him a punishment. If asked, Lewis is entitled to say either that or fuck off as the spirit moves him.

The more I watch it from this angle, the more I'm realizing there is no way this is intentional. It looked bad at full speed when I was watching the game, but now, looking at it in slow motion at this angle, his never lifts his leg higher than knee height (I'm assuming so he doesn't catch a spike in the turf) and his leg only raises higher from there because of the Ravens defender, who pushes it up.

But people are going to see what they want to see.

Doesn't look nearly as blatant as I've heard it described.

It's his "A-Rod slapping the ball" moment. One's views on the egregiousness of the offense are closely aligned with the rooting interests of the team.

I always root for the Patriots, and I thought it looked pretty bad.

But I also thought it was pretty stupid. He's way more likely to hurt himself than anyone else with a play like that, so why bother to fine him?

It looked bad. I mean have you ever seen an NFL QB do that before?

It's really clumsy at the least. Like he saw Reed coming, and got scared.

Maybe he gets fined, but I'm sure the NFL would rather see people focus on Brady's red-card offense as opposed to the alternative:

I'm sure if Ed Reed channelled Cobrakai dojo on Tom Brady the reaction would be so similar.
