Dave McKenna needs to get on this case. I would LOVE to read a story that they thought about changing the turf but Danny thought it would cost too much.

The Steelers had that awful Monday night game in the slop a few years ago and I think they put a new field down immediately afterward.

Heck, any player can get hurt. And I doubt many do play all 16 games.

What I'm saying is as time goes along, you learn when to risk things, when to dive for the yard marker vs. sliding or going out of bounds; when to throw the ball away instead of trying to make some impossible play. That's all part of learning the game. If the guy is as smart as some people have suggested, he can learn that.

So, Griffin's knee injury diagnosis is still unclear?

Flying to Birmingham tomorrow to see The Trench Coat Cat in the Hat:

I'm going to guess torn ACL after the "sometimes MRIs show old injuries" comment.

Can you imagine being there on the operating room table, before they put you out, and a guy dressed like that is the last thing you see as he says, "Now trust me. This isn't going to hurt a bit and everything's going to be just fine . . . "

Sort of looks like Bob Newhart. Maybe RG3 will wake up and this will all have been a bad dream.

The NFL would bring in George Toma to do the deed at the Stick. Even then, it would be horrendous after a prolonged rainfall. It's gotten a little better since the Giants left and the only other use the field seems to get is for some international soccer friendlies.

    Yep. Sophomore year, I think.

The turf is better now, but the Steelers has problems like that for years when they first moved into Heinz Field.

In non-RG3 knee injury news, torn ACL for Chris Clemons:

From what I saw yesterday, not so sure Luck will be immune from significant injury. A couple of times he put his head down and went right at a couple defenders for extra yardage; didn't appear to be any play it safe, slide in him. Now, granted, he doesn't run at the same rate as Griffin, but he's probably not quite the same guarantee to play every game as Peyton was standing in the pocket.

Of course, with Wilson actually leading downfield blocking on Lynch runs, not once but twice, maybe we have to re-think the idea of the unblemished quarterback in the future.
