Solider Field is still like that. Of course that might have something to do with the fact that the Chicago Parks District is responsible for maintenance.

There's NO WAY Griffin is playing in a Pro Bowl this year. Some other year? Quite possible.

I believe and hope he'll be OK. I was very encouraged by what I saw from Adrian Peterson this year and running backs take even more hits than quarterbacks do. Yes, I realize every human body is unique, but I would like to think he can rehab and be just fine. Heck, Tom Brady missed and entire year and came back fine. So did Peyton Manning. (Different injury, I know.)

Drafting RG III and keeping that turf is like buying a Ferrari, slapping four bald tires on it and moving to the Swiss Alps so you can drive it in the snow.

That happens EVERY WEEK in the NFL. Players play hurt, often with more pain than you and I can fathom. Seems like it's part of the football culture, and has been for a long, long time.

Only reason it's getting attention now is because it happened to be a star quarterback. If it were the left tackle, would you be in such an outrage?

His nose was halfway up Lewis' anus.

Field turf increases the temperature on the field by eight degrees in the summer if you use the black "dirt." You can request the green "dirt" and it will not raise the temperature as much.

Just something to consider when championing fake grass.

You want to keep grass growing, stop playing so many events on it like high schools and colleges.

    Not the same investment.
Washington gave up three first-rounders and a second-round pick in a bid to land Griffin.
He sustained three injuries over 17 games, on top of the ACL injury at Baylor in 2009, and others.
The coach has to step in and make the right decision.

Fair point, but to suggest the commissioner of the league should step in is just ridiculous. This isn't a life-threatening injury we're talking about here.

I'm not a doctor and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I did partially tear my MCL last year, and my knee was so wobbly and loose afterward that I had to wear a big-ass brace 18 hours a day to keep my leg from falling apart.

Can't imagine that the existing LCL injury, once aggravated by the hit prior to Griffin's second TD pass, didn't play a significant role in compromising Griffin's knee joint to the point that the ACL ultimately gave way. It was a matter of time, which is why Andrews said he was holding his breath watching him play.

Given everything the Redskins gave up to get Griffin, I am incredulous that Shanahan didn't watch his young QB limping around Sunday and throw in the towel for him. You just don't see NFL teams treat franchise QBs with such reckless disregard for their health these days. I'd love to watch Shanahan trying to explain his thinking to Danny Boy.

And why did you draft Cousins where you did if you're not going to use him? Even if the Redskins managed to pull out a win somehow, what are the chances Griffin was going to start against the Falcons? Or make it through that game, based on how he looked after the first quarter of this game? Might as well get the other kid in there taking snaps in a playoff atmosphere. I just don't fucking get it.

The NFL has rules that protect QB's from defenders but not from head coaches.

Didn't Andrews already give a *first* opinion? I'm betting his *second* opinion is something along the lines of "Shanahan is a dumb fucking asshole!"
