Another thing I'm thinking after seeing RGIII's knee collapse the way it did is that the brace he was wearing failed miserably.

Yep, and if he did, Redskins fans would cry foul, too.

I feel like RGIII is the new Tim Tebow at ESPN.

And that's a very, very, very bad thing.

I feel like you haven't watched a down of professional football this year.

I hope Griffin is OK and think he will be. Had a nice rookie season.

But some of this nonsense in parts of the media that he's "the new face of the NFL" or whatever was just blown way out of proportion. He's not Peyton Manning, or Tom Brady or Brett Favre or whomever. He had a good rookie season. He didn't "revolutionize the game" anymore than Tim Tebow did. And the league will go on, with or without him, just as it always does.

Golly, whatever could be your reservations about him not measuring up to those men?

(Oh by the way, he had a better rookie season than all three of them.)

Sure he had a better rookie year than them if you're into a 4-1 TD-INT ratio, another seven rushing TDs, an INT rate of 1.3 percent and the franchise's first playoff bid in five years. But what does that really mean?

He obviously had an inherent and unfair advantage because when he was doing the zone read the defenses couldn't tell where his arm ended and the ball started. They should have white footballs for the white quarterbacks.

The season isn't over, but a healthy RGIII is as good, or better, than the other two.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is Mark getting his racist ass handed to him.

    Well done, LTL.

Yeah, RG3 had a rookie season that was a lot better than pretty good. I think the only thing that clouds how truly spectacular it was is that Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson had similarly spectacular rookie seasons...

If he stays healthy, RG3 is going to be the face of the NFL for the forseeable future and I don't see anything even remotely wrong with that... From everything I've seen and from everyone I've talked to who has dealt with him when he was at Baylor and during his rookie season, this guy is the real deal and as classy as you get...

I hope he comes back and is as good next season. There's nothing about this guy not to like...

Dan Snyder must pay very, very, very well -- well enough for Dr. James Andrews to pull the old "misconstrued" rabbit out of his hat:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/01/08/james-andrews-backs-shanahans-account-of-griffins-re-entry-of-baltimore-game/

“Coach Shanahan didn’t lie about it, and I didn’t lie,” Andrews said Monday afternoon. “I didn’t get to examine [Griffin’s knee] because he came out for one play, didn’t let us look at him and on the next play, he ran through all the players and back out onto the field. Coach Shanahan looks at me like, ‘Is he OK?’ and I give him the ‘Hi’ sign as in, ‘He’s running around, so I guess he’s OK.’ But I didn’t get to check him out until after the game. It was just a communication problem. Heat of battle. I didn’t get to tell him I didn’t get to examine the knee. Mike Shanahan would never have put him out there at risk just to win a game.”
