I also read back through a lot of that thread at Sonner's suggestion. Hat tip to 93Devil for calling Russell Wilson's emergence as a legit NFL QB.

Chris Rainey continues to be a sensitive boyfriend and a solid individual.

"He did admit to some of the altercation. He admitted he grabbed her bag, which caused both of them to fall and he admitted to chasing her. He denied slapping her, but we had several witnesses to that," Gainesville police public information officer Ben Tobias said in a telephone interview.

Here are your white hats for this weekend's games:

Ravens-Broncos: Bill Vinovich. (Didn't work Ravens or Broncos this season.)
    Packers-49ers: Jerome Boger. (Workers 49ers-Bills and Packers-Texans.)
Seahawks-Falcons: Walt Coleman. (Worked Falcons-Panthers in Week 4.)
Texans-Patriots: Tony Corrente. (Worked Texans-Ravens and Texans-Titans. First time working a game at Foxborough since 2005.)

Also, Guns Hochuli picked for the Pro Bowl so no postseason spot for him, it appears.

Run the Wildcat with his newest low-round running back discovery, watch it fail, jettison the QB and fire the defensive coordinator.

Except for the first step, he's an old pro with the other steps of the process. Ask the good folks in and around Denver.

Ok, so the Steelers waive Chris Rainey. Fine.

Why didn't these moralists do the same with Ben Roethlisberger a few years ago when he reportedly raped some woman?

He had a ring to go with his "rape." Then won another and all was forgiven. As long as he didn't kill anyone, there was no way the holier-than-thou Steelers were going to cut him.

I've been to a game at new Yankee Stadium and can't help but wonder why the hell anybody would drive to a game there if they weren't covering it or working. Seems like it would be easier to park anywhere else in the city and take the subway or a cab to the park.

And because I'm a logistics nerd, where is the press parking at Fenway?

Actually, he had two rings before that night in Georgia, but the point is a fair one. Obviously, the standard is different for a fourth-string running back and a franchise quarterback, as it would for any team in the league. The Steelers are no better than any of the others, with the possible exception of the Bengals. Roethlisberger is far from the only example of that. Just check out James Harrison's legal history if you don't believe that.

49ers stick with David Akers over Billy Cundiff.

That Packers-49ers game will be very interesting when either team faces fourth-and-three at the 25.

That's my point. Textbook definition of hypocrisy by the suit who claims that Rainey's conduct led to him being waived.

Rainey's conduct did lead to him being waived. It just wouldn't lead to more valuable player being waived.

That's the whole hypocrisy of it. Rules, or policies, should be the same for everyone.
